Hertford RFC is supporting School of Hard Knocks!

SOHK works with at-risk school children across Hertfordshire, providing expert coaching and specialist one-to-one behavioural mentoring; and most importantly, they never give up on the kids who need support the most.

Every day of the school week, two members of our 1st XV team, Michael and Torran - who also coach the Academy and Youth teams - work on the front-line of this social inclusion charity. They deliver life-changing coaching to Year 9 pupils, identified by their school as being at-risk of exclusion, due to becoming disengaged with education, having a difficult home life and suffering from mental health issues.

Through rugby and vital one-to-one support, these children are able to realise their potential and work with their coaches to find ways to deal with difficult situations; this results in major improvements to their behaviour and attendance.

90% of pupils report increased confidence, hopefulness for the future and the ability to face challenges.

For just £3 a month you will be helping SOHK sustain their work in schools, improving the lives of children in Hertfordshire schools. Thank you for your support!
