Why I decided to become a Club Ambassador...

I've followed the SOHK programme since first seeing the campaign when aired on SKY TV and was completely absorbed by the initiative and it's purpose. As a rugby man myself, I was entertained by the sporting aspect but became more and more captivated by the life-changing influence the programme had on the individuals who were involved. I thought the idea of using the life-skills we all learn from being involved in sports - rugby in particular - and teaching those who aren't so fortunate or those who've had ordeals to cope with in their lives to better themselves and help them to move forward in their lives was genuinely inspiring.

Now that I've become aware how the programme has evolved and has branched out to help children as well, is the reason why I want to do my bit and help where I can in the Club Ambassador role. I've coached kids rugby for the past 7 years and have seen first hand how much our wonderful sport can influence lives of young children as they grow older, so the more we can do to help others who are less fortunate in their lives through the means of rugby, the better.

Why donate £3 a month?

With so many great causes out there doing wonderful things for charitable schemes, it's difficult to choose which ones to follow. But for those who've ever experienced or witnessed children who are having difficulties at school or in their personal lives, those children who are less fortunate and don't get the opportunity to express themselves in a way that shows their personal strengths and helps them find their own identity then Friends of SOHK is the one for you...

Just £3 a month - 10p a day and not even the cost of a pint of beer - would allow us to support more and more children become actively involved in the SoHK programme and through their learnings, change their lives forever.
